Spring Has Finally Arrived!

Weekly Roundup

Spring has finally arrived which means there have been games played!  Who knew it would take 3 weeks to play in April!

 

This past week our Rampage/rage teams came out quickly:

 

Jonas - 14u club went 2-1 in the Illinois Patriot tournament led by Ryan Kutella on the mound and Joey Marorano at the plate.
 
Rollins - 13u went 4-1 at the Monster of the Midway tourney (JP Sports) finishing only to drop the championship game 6-3 despite outscoring their opponents 56-18!  3 hitters (Schuberth, Rollins, Pobloske) went 26 of 38 driving in 28 runs while Blake Farkas threw 6 innings without letting up a run and striking out 11.  Next week they play in the Swing for the rings tournament in Elgin!
 
Teschner - 11u  traveled to Bloomington, IL to play 2 central Illinois powers, scoring a split they held them to 4 hits and their pitchers struck out 14 over 12 innings.  
 
Menconi - 10u was opened with a couple exhibition games vs Bartlett and Bloomingdale this past week.  Dropping the opener to Bartlett 2-1 they came back and beat Bloomingdale 19-3.  They open league play this week with 4 games over the next 6 days beginning with Buffalo Grove.  While the bats are still waking up, pitching and defense is paving the way as the staff has allowed 0  earned runs (3 runs total) in 10 innings while striking out 16.
 
Giovanelli - 9u opened the WSBL season by pouring it on the Batavia Bulldogs 25-0 in no hit win!  3 Players (O'Neill, Giovanelli, Pelligrino) all recorded perfect days at the plate combining for 12 hits in 12 ABs and driving in 12 runs.  This week they continue league play vs. Woodridge on Friday night.  
 
Menconi - 8u opened WSBL play this past weekend with a strong 2 - 0 start outscoring their opponents 30-10.  3 Players (Fosses, Lawrence, Menconi) went 14 for 15 driving in 12 runs while striking out only once. They continue league play this weekend vs. Downers Grove. 
 
Medina Rampage - 11u kicked off the season vs Wheaton and Bloomingdale.  This week they will compete in a 12u Round Robin in Carol Stream.
